    Mehmood Ali (29 September &#; 23 July ), popularly known simply as Mehmood & the Original "Bhaijaan" of bollywood, was an Indian actor, singer, director and producer, best known for playing comic roles in Hindi films.[1][2][3]

    During his career of more than four decades, he worked in over Hindi films. He is known as India's national comedian.[2][4] Mehmood received 25 nominations for film awards, 19 for 'Best Performance in a Comic Role', while the awards started in , awards for the best comedian category started only in Prior to that Mehmood also received 6 nominations for 'Best Supporting Actor'.

His career slumped due to his alcoholism, leading Mehmood to work as a child artist and daughter Meenu Mumtaz to work as a dancer in his stage shows and later movies. He was last seen in the Hindi movie Kunwara Baap directed by Mehmood in the song "Saj Rahi Gali Meri Maa".
