  • Phi Nhung's Cinderella's career is truly a tale of will and perseverance overcoming life's many obstacles and hardships. Growing up in Pleiku, Vietnam and being an Amerasian and a child of a single parent, Phi Nhung has had to endure much ridicules and humiliations in her childhood.

    While many of her contemporaries enjoyed carefree teenage years, Phi Nhung had to be independent very early in her life. She lost her mother when she was eleven and had to quit school after her 6th grade to work as a seamstress to support her five siblings while living with her maternal grandparents.

    Vietnamese-American primadonna Phi Nhung passed away in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday morning at the age of 49 after a period combating COVID, according to Cho Ray Hospital.

    Nhung took her last breath at am on Tuesday, the hospital told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper shortly after.

    The Vietnamese singer was diagnosed with severe complications of COVID, lung consolidation, and partial lung necrosis, accompanied bygd Cytokine storm and multi-organ failure before her death.

    The patient resorted to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), or outside-the-body life support, and constant dialysis.

    However, all of the most advanced drugs and treatment methods and the medical experts’ efforts failed to save the singer’s life.

    Nhung was first admitted to Gia An Hospital in Binh Tan District on August 15 before being transferred to Cho Ray Hospital in District 5 on August 26 and spending one month and two days in treatment there.
