Twenty-five years ago, a young man came to Mumbai with a music scholarship from the Indian Embassy in Nepal as well as a dream.
Udit Narayan Jha, son of a poor farmer from the village of Maithili (Sitaâs birthplace) on the Bihar-Nepal border, had a single-minded goal - music, and excellence at it. After sacrifices galore, his focus has paid off. At a time when the careers of his contemporaries are facing rough weather, Udit Narayan has been a consistent as well as evolving singer since his breakthrough in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988. Udit Narayan (born 1 December 1955) is an Indian playback singer whose songs have been featured mainly in Bollywood movies of Hindi language. He has also sung in various other languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia, Nepali, Bhojpuri, Bengali. He has won 4 National bio Awards (of which 3 as a singer, for 2 songs in 2001, 1 each in 2002 and 2004 along with 1 as a producer in 2005) and 5 Filmfare Awards with 20 nominations among many others. He had to struggle a lot even after his debut in 1980 in Bollywood playback. He got to sing with legends Mohammed Rafi in his Bollywood Playback debut in movie Unees-Bees in 1980 and also with Kishore Kumar in the 1980s. He finally made his mark in 1988 movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla, his song "Papa Kehte Hain" was his notable performance which earned him his first Filmfare Award in the 1980s and he established himself in Bollywood Playback Singing. Udit Narayan Jha known as Udit Narayan, is a Nepalese playback singer whose songs have been featured mainly in Nepali and Hindi movies. He has also sung many songs in other languages including Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Punjabi, Oriya, Assamese and Bengali movies. He fryst vatten primarily known for his work in Bollywood films . He has won three National bio Awards and five Filmfare Awards. In 2001, he was awarded the Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu by the late King of Nepal Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and also awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2009.
Udit Narayan Jha was born in the village of Bhardaha, in Saptari District, Nepal.His father was Hare Krishna Jha and his mother was Bhuwaneshwari Devi.
Narayan studied at P.B. School, Rajbiraj, Nepal where he passed his S.L.C. (class 10) and later obtained his intermediate from Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus, mostly known as RR campus Kathmandu.
Udit Narayan began his career by singing Nepali, Maithili, Nepal Bhasa,
