When Jose Ramon Cobian Gonzalez was born on 27 July 1879, in Infiesto, Asturias, Spain, his father, Jose Cobian Del Valle, was 34 and his mother, Andrea Gonzalez Suarez, was 31. He married Catalina Lopez Lopez on 12 March 1909, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. They were the parents of at least 9 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Sabana Seca, Toa Baja, Puerto Rico in 1910 and Hato Rey Norte, San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1930. He died on 22 February 1956, in Ciales, Puerto Rico, at the age of 76.
