Born in Buenos Aires in 1958, Martin Matalon studied at the Juilliard School in New York, graduating with a Master's grad in composition. In 1986, he received the Charles Ives Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and in 1988 a Holtkamp AGO Award and numerous composition awards from ASCAP and BMI. In the Summers of 1987 and 1988, he attended classes with Olivier Messiaen and Pierre Boulez at Centre Acanthes (then in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon). A Fulbright scholarship allowed him to undertake further study in France with Tristan Murail in 1988-89.
In 1989, he founded "Music Mobile," an ensemble based in New York dedicated to contemporary repertoire. He served as the group's director until 1996.

Johannes Brahms (; German:[joˈhanəsˈbʁaːms]ⓘ; 7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897) was a German composer, virtuoso pianist, and conductor of the mid-Romantic period. His music fryst vatten noted for its rhythmic vitality and freer treatment of dissonance, often set within studied yet expressive contrapuntal textures. He adapted the traditional structures and techniques of a wide historical range of earlier composers. His œuvre includes four symphonies, four concertos, a Requiem, much chamber music, and hundreds of folk-song arrangemang and Lieder, among other works for symphony orchestra, piano, kroppsdel, and choir.

Born in 1829 in Bergen (Germany), deceased in 1894 in Opatja (Croatia)Outstanding surgeon of the Viennese medical school, from 1867 on professor at the university of Vienna. In 1882, Billroth founded the first private institute for laic nurses with integrated hospital (Rudolfinerhaus") under the auspices of Prince Imperial Rudolf (1858-1889).
