    Jetsünma Sera Khandro Rinpoche () achieved Buddhahood, together with her consort Kyabjé Drimé Özer Rinpoche, through their practice of vajra romance. She wrote a biography of her consort, and an autobiography, that are the topic of a remarkable doctoral dissertation by Sarah Jacoby.

    Vajra romance was the central theme of Sera Khandro Rinpoche’s life, her liberation, and Jacoby’s dissertation. Jacoby writes that:
