INTRODUCTION
The simplest definition of culture is the way of life and manner in which societal activities unfold. Sir Tylor Burnett (1871) expanded on this, describing culture as a complex whole encompassing knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom, and other capabilities acquired by individuals within a society. Culture profoundly impacts individuals, and its elements are integral and cannot be disregarded.
Cultural elements, whether direct or indirect productions, are adopted through interactions, conquests, or contact with different cultural levels. To gain a better understanding of Nigerian cultures, it's essential to delve into brief historical events.
Nigeria, a country with 250 ethnic groups and 500 languages, was amalgamated in 1914 by the British government, leading to struggles for self-rule and advocacy for seven years after the declaration of nordlig and Southern protectorates.
