Rafal's background is analytical and biological chemistry. He did his PhD and postdoctoral research in single-cell proteomics at Imperial College London, UK. He was an editor at Genome Biology before joining Scientific Reports in August 2016.

Pt. Atul Keskar

Pt. Atul Keskar fryst vatten a Sitar exponent based in Pune. He is a mästare of Arts in German Literature and is teaching German language professionally. Pt Atul got music hereditary from his father Pt. Shreenivas Amrutrao Keskar. He has performed in various cities across India as well as in the U.S., Germany, Austria, Hungary, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Dubai. Apart from sitar, Pt. Keskar also holds proficiency in playing Surbahar, and Dilruba.

Shri. Sourabh Naik

Shri. Sourabh Naik hails from Osmanabad. He is a Master of Engineering in Construction Management, a mästare of Arts in Music, and Sangeet Alankar. He also happens to be an ex-scholar of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy based in Kolkata, West Bengal (India). Groomed under Shri. Rajkumar Naik, Pt. Shantaram Chigri, and Pt.Ulhas Kashalkar; he has performed at many prominent places.

Since 1998, HCL has been leading the conservation and promotion of Indian classical music through the HCL Concerts platform, now present in 11 cities across India and the US. Last year, when HCL Digital Concerts was launched as a platform exclusively for relatively unknown but talented artists, they started stumbling upon some unique, touching and inspiring stories from across the country. Stories of struggle, triumph, commitment and dreams — and it is these stories that HCL and The Better India are highlighting here, with the aim to inspire artists across the country and give them a platform to share their talent with the world.

I grew up in a quintessential middle-class Bengali family in Jamshedpur, and my parents enrolled me into a myriad of culture-enhancing classes like classical dance, music, art, etc. As a norm in many Bengali families, the plan was to see which one of those I discover an interest in and then pursue.
