iFani
Xhosa rap extraordinaire, iFani, is a breath of fresh air to the South African Hip Hop industry. Highly talented both as an MC and a rapper, iFani’s entry into the marknad has been a chart topping one. With his unique look and lyrical ability, iFani made sure he would not go unnoticed and has had the public in awe since releasing his first single Ewe.
Born in Mthatha and raised in the Port Elizabeth locations of New Brighton and Motherwell, iFani today is known as the hilarious, witty, punchline-master and overall creative MC from the Eastern Cape.
iFani’s career path was not always music. As a University of Cape Town BSc (Hons) Computer Science & BSc (Computer Engineering) graduate, iFani started off in the corporate world where music was something he did on the side. From 2005 to 2009 iFani was an underground rapper who went from battles to cyphers to releasing mixtapes and heading to Hip Hop shows around the country.

Mzayifani Mzondeleli Boltina, better known as iFani,[1] (born 20 November 1985) is a South African Hip-Hop/Rap artist, MC and television presenter.[2] Born in Mthatha and raised in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, His first single was "Hola Hater", followed by "Ewe", "Shake", "Milli" released on his album I Believes in Me (1st Quadrant)[3] albums, which was certified Gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) on the day of its release, selling over 20 000 of copies.[4]
He has also pursued a television personality career. iFani made his screen debut on as a presenter of battle reality competition series, Stumbo Stomp A

I recently had a chat with him to find out a bit more about the man behind the hit single “Ewe”
Q: Please give us a brief bio, where are you from where do you live and how did you get started in this field?
A: Born in Mthatha n raised in PE. Went to cape town for a hustle then came to Jozi late 2007. And jozi seem to be happening so I’ve been here since :)
I started in 2005 as south African Hiphop started blossoming. I wanted to join the sa hustle coz inom had been loving rap music for some time. The snoop dogg n Dre, biggy, PAC etc introduced me to the genre and prokids n selwyns made it look possible for me. They gave me a dream.
