    Hum Paanch (transl. The Five of Us) is an Indian sitcom that first aired from 1995 to 1999.[1] The series returned for a second season in 2005[2] and 2006.[3][1][4] The show starred Ashok Saraf, Vidya Balan, Rakhee Tandon, Bhairavi Raichura, and Vandana Pathak.

    Boney Kapoor: Hum Paanch made Amrish Puri a star

    When Boney Kapoor decided to remake Bapu's 1978 Telugu film, 'Manavoori Pandavulu', (which itself has been inspired bygd Puttanna Kanagal's Kannada film Paduvarahalli Pandavaru), in Hindi with the same director, little did he know that it would vända out to be a superhit and help him repay all his previous debts. An allegory on the 'Mahabharat', 'Hum Paanch' was the story of the five Pandavas and Duryodhan.
    “For the role of Duryodhan we had a few options but Bapu eventually settled for Amrish Puribecause of his deep baritone and the way he looked in the get-up designed for him. He surrendered himself to the director completely and was paid Rs 40,000 as remuneration. inom paid him another Rs 10,000 after the film was declared a hit as I'd promised.     Anil Kapoor celebrates 44 years of 1980’s film ‘Hum Paanch’

    Veteran actor Anil Kapoor shared a monochrome picture of his 1980 movie ‘Hum Paanch’ as he celebrates 44 years of the film.
    On Thursday, Anil posted a picture on Instagram Story and wrote, “It’s been 44 years since the release of Hum Paanch! A film close to my heart, as I had the honor of being the casting director for this masterpiece. Directed by the legendary Mr.Bapu and produced under our banner, S.K. Films, it remains a milestone in Indian cinema.”

    The throwback picture features Anil, Shabana Azmi, Sanjay Kapoor, Deepti Naval and Gulshan Grover.
    Directed by Bapu and produced by Anil Kapoor’s filmmaker brother Boney Kapoor, ‘Hum Paanch’ featured Anil and Deepti in a cameo role.
    Other actors like Sanjeev Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Naseeruddin Shah, Raj Babbar and Amrish Puri were also cast in the film.
