Background Of charles Babbage Charles Babbage was born in London on the 26th of December, 1791. He was the son of a banker. This is Charles as a boy.

Education Charles was often ill, therefore was mainly educated at home. He was very interested in mathematics, and in 1810 he went to Cambridge university.

Early Adult After Babbage had graduated, he was hired by the Royal Institution to lecture on calculus. Before two years had passed, he had been elected a member of the Royal samhälle.

Astronomicalsociety With the help of his friends from Cambridge, he set up the Astronomical gemenskap in 1810.He was the first to challenge the dominance of the Royal society.
