Not only was “The Man, The Myth, The Legacy” the return album bygd Three-6 Mafia co-founder Lord Infamous in but it also perfectly describes one of the most influential southern rappers ever. Just a few days before Christmas , and less than a year after 5 of the original Three-6 Mafia members reunited under the banner of Da Mafia 6ix, Infamous (born Ricky Dunigan) passed away due to a heart attack. Rap fans lost not just the possibility of a new Three 6 Mafia album with all 6 original members but also lost one of the most original and influential MCs in southern rap history.
Infamous and his half brother DJ Paul began making music together in the late 80’s and early 90’s under the moniker of Da Serial Killaz. Then the brothers met another local Memphis rapper by the name of Juicy J and formed a group called the Backyard Posse. Ricky Dunigan (November 17, - December 20, ), better known by his stage name Lord Infamous, was an American hip hop artist from Memphis, Tennessee, USA. He was co-founder of the Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia, together with his half brother DJ Paul.
Lord Infamous began his music career in with his younger half-brother Paul Beauregard, better known by his stage name DJ Paul. Later in , Lord Infamous and DJ Paul met up with fellow north Memphis rapper and producer Juicy J. These three along with a number of other local rappers formed a group initially called "The Backyard Posse", which later went on the be known as "Triple 6 Mafia". The first record deal for the group was with Nick Scarfo and Prophet Posse. Under the label they released their first underground album, Smoked Out, Loced Out in At the same time, Lord Infamous released his first underground solo album, Lord Of Terror. He was the nephew of DJ Paul and one of the co-founders of Three 6 Mafia. His lyrics touched on macabre subjects such as Satanism, mass murder, and torture, along with more traditional themes such as sex and drug use.[2]
