Lu Xun was a general serving the Riverlands during the Second Emperor, Liu Shan’s, reign.

When Sima Zhao began his expedition against the Riverlands, Zhong Hui was put in charge of the capture of Hanzhong. I would put money on Lu Xun. Overall, I see him as a better strategist and tactician.

Xiahou Mao draws a nice distinction though it could be considered semantics for our purposes.

Jiang Wei has such a rotten reputation among the Three Kingdoms fandom for good reason. He weakened his country beyond repair by going on fruitless campaign after campaign in the north. Zhuge Liang's inability to pick out quality talent wasn't just a one time affair with Ma Su. It also extended to Jiang Wei who definitely shouldn't have been given the kind of authority he had. Who else would have filled that role after Kongming's death, I don't know.
